I love Prague and can’t wait to go back. There’s a heavy underground current there that feels tangible on every dark corner and in every dubious drinking hole. Well… Prague’s Undertong emerge from the shadows with a debut that immediately pulls you along through some vast distorted cosmos. Their self-titled album drifts between psychedelic stoner-doom, sludge, grunge and space rock. It’s the kind of maelstrom where colossal riffs burn through clouds of fuzz and reverb, only to dissolve into quieter, dreamlike passages. Raw, weathered vocals add another layer of grit to the journey; and showcase another side of a band that’s unafraid to wander and almost get lost. It’s a beautifully unhinged cosmic voyage, heavy, atmospheric and fiercely sincere!
