You need to crash into every weekend listening to Rust Lords! That’s right, these good ol’ boys know the deal and know how to get you high! Somewhere on a filthy scrapyard a bunch of dudes got together to gather up some doom, hardcore and thrash. They then chose one wreck that still drove, threw all of it into it, put some weight on the gas pedal, set the damn thing on fire and watched it all explode as it hit some wall at the end of the stretch of pavement. Holy hell! Suffer Eternal is twenty minutes of grating riffs, wiry bass, throat ripping vocals and sudden left turns. A moment of psychedelic swagger turning into punk velocity, or a sludge influence mutating into thrash. And grunge dragged through the gutter! Filthy by default, funny by way of lyrics, vicious through the snarl and always entirely unpredictable. Even so, these Rust Lords never lose their sound in all that chaos. Those mutations are deliberate and aimed for. The explosion shows that genre boundaries are only there as suggestions, and the six scorched little horror stories left in its wake, the intense pleasure of watching it all burn!
