A new week has started? How was your weekend? Listened to all forty of the February Doom Charts yet? What a great edition once again! Followed our countdown of the Numbers 40 to 26 over on Facebook? If not, those little hype blurbs will be collected and posted on this little old blog as well... As usual we hope to have as much time as possible for the HiVe, but it has been difficult the last weeks. Still, last week, we managed to write about the awesome new Clouds Taste Satanic, Weedow, Slift and Last Quarter's ode to us, (grin) called For The Hive. Besides putting up the new video by Dool and doing a premiere for the awesome snippet video by Observers. And that Observers album The Age of the Machine Entities comes out today! So happy release day to Observers!! Be sure to check it out! Hope all of you have a great day and an awesome week! Check’m out! Check’m all out!

As you can see from that Top 10 list above, we have mostly been listening to albums released in 2022. Because of all the work on all the year-end-list, for Stoner HiVe and Doom Charts. But soon, we will be getting back to the normal Stoner HiVe program. And to start the year off properly, we got a special worldwide premiere tomorrow! So, tune in tomorrow and get ready to surf!

Number 16

Number 16

We’ve arrived at Number 16… And we did this after only jumping three points from Kryptograf and their The Eldorado Spell album that we found rocking out on Number 17. But this album we find on Number 16 was an early entry into the Top 20; all those early lists we received all had high points for this Sabbath mood setting hardrock and metal album. Indeed, this is classic metal, vintage doom, proto rock, and all done so extremely well, intense craftmanship and perfectly balanced. Some minor touches of the eighties makes this pure high grade NWOBHM as much as the traditional take we all fell in love with in the first place. And those vocals, the harmonies, the leads, the lyrics, they bring it all together. And that speed up in the title track, with that guitar work, yowzah!  Or as the honorable Bucky Brown stated: “Whether you’re in the mood for killer solos, vocal harmonies, menacing breakdowns or searing leads, this band has you fulfilled. Everything about this is bad ass.” Bad ass indeed! On Number 16 we find…

The September Doom Charts went live two days ago; and since then we’ve been listening to all forty of them in a row, any moment we have. We’ve just started our playthrough of Number 25, Path Of 1000 Suns by Umbilicus. “Well, in Greece we have a saying that roses spring from thorns, and the brilliant debut of Umbilicus is testament of that. Tasty 1970s-infused prog rock with an excellent sense of melody and a sweet sound that flows like warm whiskey down a weary traveller’s throat. The band’s influences range all the way from Hendrix and Kravitz, to early Deep Purple and some touches of Skid Row.Ioannis Valiakos from Desert Vulture stated. So, we’re sure to start scoot boogying over here!  September was a great month for music once again; and looking at the releases for October and November; things are going to get hot and heavy once again! Enjoy your week! And keep listening to all that heavy stuff out there!
