Most worn band shirts of 2019

Most worn 'band shirts' of 2019

Upon my return from the mountains the honorable Reek of STOOM showed me a picture of his battle jacket! Yes, the one shown above here. Well, of him and his jacket getting his party on with awesome bands like The Red Widows. Parson City, Cower, Hounds and Gevaudan! All studded and patched with his favorite band colors. Soon to be patched even more with those bands just mentioned! Which made me wonder why my battle jacket ever retired and what colors I usually wear...

Well, here’s the Top 5 of most worn band shirt of 2019!

What is or was your most worn band shirt?

An Evening With Knives

Doktor420's Most Worn Shirts

Doktor420 immediately jumped at the opportunity to show off his favorite shirts. “I guess my all time favorite shirt is that Mans Ruin one by Frank Kozik. I am used to buy a shirt after every gig I enjoyed. I do find that too many of the bands we love use skulls or something along those lines. Usually, those come out a bit too childish for my taste. The past year I wore the Elder and Karma To Burn shirt the most. A few of my beloved old shirts are unfortunately worn out, but i cannot throw ‘em away. I love them too much. Like my Neurosis and Baby Woodrose longsleeves. I guess they need to play in my vicinity soon again!”

Uffe Lorenzen – Galmandsværk

Uffe Lorenzen – Galmandsværk
Bad Afro Records – 2017
Rock, Folk, Psych, World
Rated: ****

What an amazing time that must have been. Those ten weeks on that small volcanic island Gomera near the coast of Morocco, where Uffe Lorenzen did nothing but write new songs and meander about life, love and everything in between. The result is his first solo album under his own name, Galmandsværk. We’ve been going wild on all of his musical efforts for years now. On Trial, Spids Nogenhat, Dragontears and first and foremost Baby Woodrose. With whom he released the amazing Freedom album last year. Which we still spin regularly! But during those ten weeks he explored his inner self, and might have gone right there, towards the end of its tether. The result is an amazing psychedelic folk album with all sorts of worldly influences and an amazing array of different instruments. We can hear the sitar, bansuri, hurdy gurdy, violin and a few more. All of his explorations are done in Danish and tell a highly personal tale. (Which unfortunately might be lost on many of us who aren’t fluent in Danish.) Ten stories that delve into his thoughts about every aspect of life; but which; even without speaking Danish, will make you drift off into the sunset or focus your thoughts on a single task before you. The ten songs all seem to have a different ability, but it is always one that sounds universal, timeless and absolutely beautiful!

Number 16

Number 16

We climb only three points from Mos Generator on Number 17 to reach the first position occupied by two bands. Both from Europe, one hails from France and the other from Denmark. One of which aims for the psychedelic free rock adventure, while the other produces adventurous extraterrestrial stoner rock. And ofcourse, those French space age travelers appeared on the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown before, on Number 6 of the 2011 edition to be exact. Still highly atmospheric the band seems to slowly build towards an apex with every song and the entirety of the album. With less tempo, the arcs are shaped with dreamlike vocals, space rock explorations, pop sensible melodies and hefty doom-ridden riffs. The Danes give us their absolute best when professing their desires and thoughts for the human race. Intense psychedelic rock with garage influences that culminates into the perfect example of  free rock. Free being the operative word without any doubt! Yes, Open Doors and get hooked! It’s…

Baby Woodrose – Freedom

Baby Woodrose – Freedom
Bad Afro Records – 2016
Rock, Psych, Free, Garage
Rated: *****

We love Baby Woodrose. And have been loving these Danish freaks since their beginning now about fifteen years ago. And when the new single and video Open Doors was released we knew the upcoming album was going to be one sweet ass ride once again. And we were definitely right, cause Freedom is beautiful. The concept and the album, on which they definitely profess their thoughts on the concept as well. In songs like 21st Century Slave and Mind Control Machine it is obvious. But it flourishes on almost every song and definitely makes this album something even more righteous than before and adds without a doubt to the quality. Lorenzo and the boys definitely wanted to profess more than just their love for psychedelic, garage and free rock. They want to tell their truth and we can only listen, nod our heads and agree. But ofcourse there are those of out there who care little for messages and just want to bang out and rock hard. Look no further! Cause Baby Woodrose takes care of all comers and will disappoint nobody! Get hooked and find Freedom!

Telstar Sound Drone - Your Finger Stirs The Liquid Moon

Telstar Sound Drone - Your Finger Stirs The Liquid Moon

And a new Telstar Sound Drone video! The single Your Finger Stirs The Liquid Moon is taken from the album Magical Solutions To Everyday Solutions that came out in March 2016. Which we have been loving to bits! Cause their space rock extravaganza is filled with huge psychedelic layers and intense droning backgrounds. The band, featuring three Baby Woodrose members, one (two actually) from Spids Nøgenhat and vocalist Sean Jardenbæk, mix up their hard rocking psychedelic garage with laidback space and almost blasé drones. Check it out and get owned by Telstar Sound Drone!
