We have been smitten with Kamchatka for a very long time and when that 2014 album came out our love was cast in gold, set in stone and tattooed on our bones! And we were right! The first four of Swedish trio Kamchatka were already bloody amazing and managed to shine a light on the various influences they had. But then, back in 2014, there was The Search Goes On. An album so perfect we all knew these cats met the Devil on the crossroads. Everything that came before was executed with so much soul and spirit, it simply spilled over the edges. And when that happens a follow-up album can never be THAT good. Long Road Made Of Gold wasn’t bad but could not hold a candle to the one that came before. But now, after another four years, we are treated to a righteous continuation of that wonderful earthshattering album. Hoodoo Lightning spins around its axis on very powerful and fast paces blues. Hardrock grafted on that seventies spirit, full of energy and a majestic groove. The first two track seem to serve as whirling intro to take the listener to a state of bliss before the dark magic truly explodes! Highly addictive!
