The mirror is lying to you… Plastic Woods have always taken an extra step when it comes to combining inspirations into one brilliant adventure. And Mirrors is another, wild step in that evolution. Out, October 22nd on Spinda Records and Discos Macarras Records the album steps through the looking glass and into a land beyond, taking the listener with them, with grandiose guitar work, progressive compositions and something funky to boot. There are darker moments and lighthearted playful things, like reflected sunlight on the water…

So, step through the Mirrors, leave the troublesome, irksome, violent or sensible world behind and let yourself fall into Plastic Woods third album. Inspired by Tarot archetypes and the strange logic of Lewis Carroll’s looking-glass world, the album plunges headfirst into the collapse of identity. The Tower is falling, The Fool keeps dancing, the reflection is cracking, and somewhere on the other side of the glass awaits the part of ourselves we’d rather not meet. Or some of us want to dance with.

Musically, Plastic Woods turn the looking glass into a kaleidoscope of progressive rock, psychedelia, hard rock, folk and blues, pushing their sound into darker, more intricate territory. It is an inward trip, and you often feel like you are running through anxiety, false memories and righteous paradoxes as if a monster is right there on your heels. But Mirrors never becomes the album that will lead you out. The mirror might be telling the truth, and the thing you thought was chasing you has been wearing your face all along…
