Self-released – 2026
Rock, Doom, Metal, Stoner
Rated: ****

Do you hear? Something has awoken. Something ancient seems to stir beneath Consuelo del Infortunio. The new release by Argentinian trio En La Niebla, who lure you into their world of smoke, dancing shadows and slow-burning heat, where fuzz drenched guitars move like spirits and every riff carries primordial dread or at least something devious that has long been buried…

Rooted in doom, stoner and metal, the album moves through crushing heaviness, hypnotic grooves and psychedelic passages with an ever present haze. And with its raw, almost live-room quality, the incantation only becomes deeper. Nothing feels polished, the guitars crackle at the edges, riffs linger, cymbals sound off into the distance, where the bass lumbers and then suddenly seems to perform its own little ritual. The whole record seems to hum at its very own pitch.

And even though En La Niebla sing in Spanish, except for the Drop of Blood single, you can feel the essence of all the songs throbbing through your veins. Death, desire, occultism, they drift through the songs like fleeting figures glimpsed through the fog. And while the music remains intensely physical and gripping, heavy enough to feel it in your entire being it is also hypnotic enough to lose yourself completely. And there among the strange warmth of the shadows, you surrender to the darkness and find comfort in everything Consuelo del Infortunio…
