Lint – Existence
Self released – 2013
Rock, Grunge, Stoner, Sludge
Rated: ***
We are here to reveal all the secrets of the belly button fluff. To celebrate the achievements of Australian hospital worker Graham Barker who has been collecting his own navel fluff in jars every day since 1984. An achievement which has won him a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the world's largest collection of navel lint. No. We’re not. Some things are meant to remain a mystery. We are here in fact to help reveal New South Wales lo-fi stoner metal trio Lint to the world. A band that transformed itself from an experimental noise drone experience into a psychedelic grunge and stoner happening. On their new album Existence we are treated to equal amounts of distorted riffs, atmospheric fuzz and heavy rhythms. Interspliced with some postrock elements and great tension arcs. Strange, weird and with enough questions to remain an enigma. Lint. Play with it.
