And on Friday September 4th, the entire self-titled debut for the Swedish Vulture Neck three will drop worldwide like an atomic doom rock bomb. But over here on Stoner HiVe, we’re honored to present to you, right now… The FULL ALBUM PREMIERE for Vulture Neck! 

The almost thirty-eight minutes long, seven-track spanning debut full-sized release by Stockholm three Vulture Neck suggest something nocturnal, apocalyptic, surreal and mythic. Like a soundtrack to a fairytale city disappearing at midnight. Seven tracks, seven cuts of scorched earth, black weather and machinery grinding away somewhere deep inside the earth. The riffs come thick with fuzz and grit, dragging shadows through rooms full of sludge, doom and psychedelic rock. Danger lurks and the trio keeps opening trapdoors beneath the floor. Melodies flicker, while drums stumble into the distance. Noise rises like floodwater and suddenly the whole thing is somewhere else. Vulture Neck manages to transform everything around you without you noticing. Violent in some respects, but it all mirrors some kind of beauty. Like brief lights through a haze of smoke, moments of stillness before the next collapse. Vulture Neck sounds raw, ominous and yes, gloriously crooked. If you need some danger back in your life, Vulture Neck is here with the goods!

Vulture Neck dwell in Stockholm, Sweden and have been riffing together since 2018. They’ve done a handful of live performances and released three digital EPs/singles. The music has elements of old school Doom, Sludge, Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, once even described as a mix between Venom and ZZ Top! This rather broad and crooked path has been a conscious choice from the band to make their sonic trip more interesting. The lyrics are composed by singer Magnus Öhrn and convey an atmosphere reflective of our inevitable, impending doom.

Lyrical concepts like drowning, the Black Plague, Death (in the form of Phantom Carriage by Selma Lagerlöf), scavengers and volcanoes befit the rawness of the music. The debut self-titled full-length is recorded and mixed by the band themselves and professionally mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.
First out the gate is lead single “Raining Fire, Raining Stones”. A driving, fist-pumper of a track that grinds forward with filthy fuzz. Amidst the assault the band take moments to step back and expand into dark, doomy psychedelia, before diving back into sludgy fury. “Raining Fire, Raining Stones” will be available on streaming August 21st, and the debut self-titled album drops September 4th.
