This Green Desert Water feels like it might be meant for distilling some heavy bourbon and smokey whisky. One with a long lingering aftertaste... And Eerie Meadows might just be the angels’ share… 

It comes on slow. This new Green Desert Water album, like a morning mist hanging over a mountain road, slow to reveal itself but impossible to ignore once you're inside it. They don’t seem to rush anything. They’re here for the journey itself. They settle into deep, dust-covered grooves, letting warm fuzz, blues-soaked guitar lines and psychedelic shimmer do the talking while the rhythm section keeps everything moving with steady confidence. They know what they do and know how to get the best out of the ingredients used. 

The soulful vocals lead the way. The expressive guitar work steers the movement, without ever showboating, preferring feeling over flash. There is classic heavy rock, southern touched  swagger here. And track like The Blacksmith might be the best example of that. And if you long to experience something more expansive, letting that desert heat turn into more coolness and vistas full of drifting skies? Well, they’ve got you covered. Check out closing Meteora for instance. 

Movement is all it takes and it takes an artist to appreciate the slowness of it all. And on Eerie Meadows, the band is all about movement and slowness and atmosphere and a cool groove that is still able to get you hot and bothered. It creeps in slow, your addiction to this Green Desert Water. It does not grab your attention, it slowly steals it…
