Doom Charts
“Everything’s one, renewed by the sun…”
~ King Buffalo
Renewed by a sun that had it’s day in the north western hemisphere. The days are darkening and the wind rolls in, heralding the coming of the fall… Like those leaves scattered everywhere, the votes were cast in every direction, a total of 231 albums received votes. And the 25 to 3 were all pretty close together. But the Numbers 1 and 2 jumped out by miles. As you will notice when you peruse the list below. But all of them belong to the great and majestic Heavy Underground. All of them are great releases… We are lucky… Which Sunil Singh so elegantly realized on his arcticle for Metal Talk… We get to live and enjoy a musical period that has everything good from all that came before; and manages to transform and renew it into something more…
Another thing we need to mention, is the fact that after a vote, yes, the Doom Charts are democratic in every sense of the word, the publishing date of the Doom Charts will be moved. No longer, the 1st of every month, but the 1st Friday of every month. This due to the fact that some of the contributors think late releases at the end of each month might not get enough attention and because for most of the months this might work better for most of the Contributors involved. So, the October edtion will be publish on Friday, November 4th. But that’s weeks and many hours listening to great music away… For now, we have the Forty awesome releases below… Here’s the September Doom Charts, on October 1st…
And there they are once again...
No less than Forty amazing heavy rock albums... All voted for by those crazy heavy rock fiends that do that Doom Charts thing... It's the September edition! And all Forty kick ass!
Personal votes went out to: King Buffalo, Freedom Hawk, Mutautu, Clutch, SpellBook, Tornet, Abrams, DRÖÖG, Mythic Sunship, Head, Psychlona, Everest Queen & Trippelgänger ! We started listening to all Forty in a row a little while ago… Finished the awesome Wölfhead album Blood Full Moon and now listening to Paterikon and their wild The Way Down!
