On their self-titled debut the Italian duo Les Lebiennes implored a tiny pinch of hefty eighties or dark new wave influences but on their sophomore effort Giorni Felici they stay more on the course of alternative minded rock that borrows heavy from punk, stoner and garage. The best thing however about Les Lesbiennes is the fact that they stay true to their very own attitude. A very own sort of defiant stance and one could see them shrugging everything off and walking down the street with a day old cigar stump in the corner of their mouth. Grimy looking and borderline vagrant. And then there is this secret artistic side. Which has them enjoying every day in a weak sort of assumption that it will be there last. No absolute wild times and damn the consequence; but a sort of ‘it doesn’t matter what we do, so we’d better enjoy it on some level’ take on the end. And that sort of sunny doom and gloom is exactly what we want on these strange and weird winter days…
