Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday
It’s Friday… The First Friday of the Month! Which means the new Doom Charts just went live! A great edition once again, covering the best of the heavy underground releases of January 2025. And then Stoner HiVe decides to do another Quick Fire Friday round as well! That’s a lot of heavy music to take in! But where the Doom Charts glance over their shoulder towards January, we go back to 2024 with this round of heavy releases! That’s right, all albums out since 2024! So, Here are some quick words about some great releases. We know, they deserve more, but there’s so much good and heavy stuff, and we just simply cannot ever do it all justice. So here it is… Another Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday! And it burns hot like molten lava!
Kaputth – I
Kaputth hails from Nuremberg, Germany and explores all very dark and stormy doom landscapes on their first full-sized release called I. The quartet has been releasing music since 2021 and the I album feels like a culmination of all that came before. Highly atmospheric, the funeral touch and the scorched scenery will strike a chord in the heart of all the lost souls, blood suckers and black metal enthusiasts…

Lowmad – Lost
The Lowmad four produced some highly addictive grungy and cosmic stoner rock! Their eight track album is called Lost and it is truly an amazing labyrinthian work to lose yourself in. Haunting, chased by the devil vocals, punk attitudes, sludge tones, and some whirling noise that will surely drive every minotaur crazy! Go get Lost!

Sequester – Cosmic Considerations
Sequester is the musical project of Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Boc. He started his journey in 2005 and the new Cosmic Considerations album combines all that space, psych, prog and metal you can possibly need. This being the work of one man feels like pure insanity! Mind warp inducing, which is always a good thing!
Fringe Sociology - Crucial Carbon Molecules
Remember when we went crazy for that first Fringe Sociology single Karma Carcass, Soul Queen? Well, the crazies are back with a second single, all leading up to that full sized release in 2025. This is called Crucial Carbon Molecules; which combines spacey vocals, insane drum work and floating guitar lines. A paradox of high energy and slow dreaming… Lucid or not, this will suck you in!
Six Months of Sun – Creatures
Cold Smoke Records and Urgence Disk released the new Six Months of Sun album on December 6th. It’s called Creatures and brings more of the wildness we fell in love with on their earlier Below The Eternal Sky album. Which was preceded by the equally stunning And Water Flows from 2013. That’s right, Six Months of Sun have been together for more than twelve years. And the new Creatures is an instrumental stoner metal monster!

Organmother – Pentagrammaton
Organmother features members from Bismarck and Green Sky Accident and hails from Bergen, Norway. Pentagrammaton is the debut single and it’s something to fall head over heals for! It will melt your heart with furious energy! Sludge metal, stoner, doom and noise and all brought with such intensity it will surely set your soul on fire!
Doomsday Sun - A Slow, Agonising Rapture
Doomsday Sun is a four piece from Stoke-on-Trent in the UK. And on A Slow, Agonising Rapture they bring you classic metal, but with doom, goth, grind and death influences. A few instances when the groove is allowed to take hold and some eighties thrash moments, but all of it full of dank despair and tales of twisted dystopia. Be warned!
