Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is home to many a great band and Burnt Lung with their self-titled debut four track EP will surely be among that huge list soon. Especially on that dark side that features all those lovely bands from the Heavy Underground. And Burnt Lung is definitely that! It’s the archetypal doom and stoner that scorches and blisters and sends wave after wave of billowing smoke your way. The riffs might come first, but the  powerful drums are equally propellant on that first opening track named after the band. Harsh and intense vocals, opting for the vile and wicked, blackens the road ahead, the seem to act as a carpet to pave the way for the song to continue. The sudden end and transition into second track Crowbar is severe, but they immediately punch on, stomping on the terra like a beast on rampage. Charring and full of ardor, the machinal step in, step out, approach to this song is even more intense than the opener. And with those two tracks alone the Burnt Lung three already leave a high mark. But there are still two songs to come both of them will singe and sear and will, together with the earlier two, feel like the iron is there for a reason. To brand you as a Burnt Lung fan for life!
