A colleague wrote about this album and his words alone made me want to get down and dirty and dance with Teardrop City! Did they name themselves after The Monkees single by the same name? Are they just a filthy reincarnation of the Louvin Brothers? Whatever the case, the foursome that released their debut release It’s Later Than You Think back in 2018 have this edge and stank to them that will have you wanting to spend a few more nights in the gutter than is probably good for ya. Now available everywhere, as a soundtrack for your trip to the dark side of life. Teardrop City is comprised out of four Mississippi heroes Tyler Keith, George Sheldon, Wallace Lester and Laurie Stirratt. Indeed, from bands like The Neckbones, Kenny Brown and Blue Mountain. It’s been described as a Exile On Main Street by the Rolling Stones meets Muswell Hillbillies by The Kinks. Wow! And it is indeed, something along those lines. Grimy garage, with country and blues roots a plenty, punky arrogance and a whole lot of attitude. Pure rock ‘n roll of the greasy kind!
