With names like Valient Himself, Lorenzo Woodrose and President Fetch the Danish power trio Hjortene sure knows how to capture your attention. And then after you’ve heard their third release you realize there was no need to use these kinds of attention grabbing guest spots; the boys and their music are already incredible as it stands. Perhaps the three tracks, opener 180.000 km featuring Valient, fast paced James Brown with help from President Fetch and psychedelic closer Canada featuring Woodrose are the best efforts on the album. But if so they are closely followed by awesome stoner surf stomper Hold Dig Væk, the eerie, troubling and ever changing Pounding Hammer and lovely Weber who has you lusting after some good BBQ, preferably freshly shot deer meat, within seconds. Grin. Let’s not forget to mention the amazing repetitive builder Igennem Hårde Tider. So you see pal, the album is already right there; at the top of the pile among the great, the fun and the amazing. Check’m out and hear the Danish thunder!
