Graveyard – Lights Out

Graveyard – Lights Out
Nuclear Blast/PIAS – 2012
Rock, Hard, Psychedelic, Blues, Stoner
Rated: ****

After Norssken broke up in 2000 we were presented with the amazing Witchcraft and Albatros. But after five years the members of Albatros were bored with the grim musical course they were sailing and they buried that project. So in 2006 Graveyard was founded and a year later we were treated to their debut album which featured tasty songs where the guys paid homage to the dark seventies. On the follow-up which was released last year called Hissingen Blues they waved goodbye to even more darkness and the blues got hugged even more tightly resulting in an album that got hailed as one of the absolute best of 2011. The amount of fans grew explosively and everyone was excited when a new album was announced this year called Lights Out. And justly so, cause those expectations are almost completely met with only one small point of regret: parts of the raw and gritty edges have disappeared. But it were those dangerous gravelly and moments that gave Graveyard its amazing sound. But nonetheless; Lights Out is yet another amazing Graveyard album! So fellas can we expect yet another one next year?!
