November Poetry Month

November Poetry Month

Our very own poet of fragmentary wonder, Ronny Dijksterhuis entered a mostly Dutch poetry challenge that goes on throughout November. Posting his verses on a daily basis on Facebook and Instagram. But Ronny has been doing so in English, making the entire world privy to his beautiful craft of freeze framing thoughts and solidifying images into spellbinding sentences…

For all of you who carry a strong urge to learn Dutch or already know it, his official poetry collection ‘Hoe Glas Bevriest’ (How Glass Freezes) came out in May of this year and can be ordered through most book websites. Like HERE. And probably by contacting him on Instagram.

I won’t be able to enter the challenge properly... Simply because I won’t let me. Time is always limited. And that should not be a factor. So, it’s simply a matter of getting your priorities wrong. But enough about all that, here’s a fragment that has been whirling through my mind…

The challenge was instigated by Vanessa Daniëls and is meant to inspire people to write. Just write. Nothing has to be perfect. A new poem every day for 30 days. 30 days of imperfection.
