The Awesome Machine – El Bajo
Been in the possession of The Awesome Machine’s Under The Influence and The Soul of A Thousand Years ever since they were released back around 2002, 2003. And when Ozium Records released God Damn Rare Vol 1 and God Damn Rare Vol 2, we became slaves of The Awesome Machine all over again! And after hearing Ripple Music will be reissuing their It’s Ugly Or Nothing album from 2000, I immediately set my alarm clock for January 12th! Third track on said album, El Bajo… And there’s a video for it, out now!
FROM THE PR WIRE:
Stoner rock veterans THE AWESOME MACHINE unleash new video; "...It's Ugly Or Nothing" album reissue out January 12th on Ripple Music!
Swedish stoner rock scene's veterans The Awesome Machine present their new "El Bajo" video taken from the first-ever vinyl reissue of their cornerstone album "...It's Ugly Or Nothing", out on January 12th as part of Ripple Music's new "Beneath The Desert Floor" series.
"…It’s Ugly or Nothing is foremost an absolute blast of a heavy rock record, and as a herald of the new oldschool, it’s been gifted with an entirely new resonance." — The Obelisk
In the wake of their new "Beneath The Desert Floor" series — unearthing long-lost treasures from the early days of stoner rock — Californian label Ripple Music has teamed up with Swedish stoner scene veterans THE AWESOME MACHINE for the reissue of their 2000 third album "...It's Ugly Or Nothing". An indestructible mass of fuzz-drenched heft, this is eleven tracks of uncompromising stoner rock goodness for the ages in the vein of Kyuss and Slo Burn, a true classic of Swedish-brewed mastery that old and new fans of the genre will welcome with open arms and ears in their record collection!
About "El Bajo", drummer Tobbe Bøvik says: "El Bajo is one of the eldest compositions by the band, written way back in early 1999. It really defines the sound of The Awesome Machine. With its distorted bass intro, heavy drums, fuzzy guitars and raunchy vocal chorus, it sets the pace of this stoner classic. Accompanied by an action-packed desert-car-chase video, it will please any fan of the genre.
Recorded in 2000 by King Diamond guitarist Andy La Rocque, the long-overdue reissue of "...It's Ugly Or Nothing" will be available on gold vinyl, with each copy wrapped in a classic Japanese-style OBI strip with the "Beneath The Desert Floor" special series art.
