They’re two parts of the Flying Vipers, Destroy Babylon and we believe many other projects and bands; they’re identical twins and they rock out as a duo under the name Cryptophaser. On their debut release XXII they dubbed their sound dungeon fuzz. And you need to check it out! It’s not a huge time constraint for the six tracks on this release will only take thirteen minutes out of your day. Which is without any doubt the major weakness to this release; we would not have minded one bit to listen to more of opening title track Cryptophaser, grooving second track Fuzzmodic, anthemic third pounce and stomp Wet Brain, the three minute and thirty-two minute long battleship of the release called Solid State Transmissions with its middle eastern signature, the atmospheric space drone October 83 or damn fine rumbling stoner closer DOTMFG. You see; all those tracks have its merits and sound pretty darn good… It’s just too short. You can claim of course that everything that’s damn good will always be over too fast. But in this case it feels over before it can properly explode… Alright; Cryptophaser, you’ve got my attention now here’s me hoping for something more! A lot more!
