We jumped a hole in the sky when we thought we saw a new album come in through the PR wire for French trio Blondstone. But we were only very momentarily disappointed when we noticed that the ‘O’, was an ‘I’. Cause the Danish blues rocking power trio Blindstone has been delivering damn fine releases for over twenty years! Indeed, Blindstone started way back in 2002 and with Scars To Remember they give use their ninth studio album. Started out as bluesy as they come, their blues has started to become ever more diesel powered. Scars To Remember is still as soulful as ever, but its more and more seventies hardrock and this suits the three Blindstone brothers perfectly. Blindstone has always worn its influences on its sleeves, and Scars To Remember does indeed contain obvious tips of the hat to influences such as Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Walter Trout, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and others. Citing those influences and paying homage never hurt anyone, and especially not when the songs are as lazy yet memorable as In The Eye Of The Storm, as ferocious as Drums Of War or gritty as Down For The Count. Instrumental The Fields Of Bethel shows off some wild drum work and equally stunning guitar playing. This is diesel blues, the heavy blues that sends shoots bolts of lightning through your soul…
