We all listen to some gnarly stuff, raw and with a dirty edge. But sometimes you are in the need for something clean. Neatly, ordered progressive metal. And in comes the new album Dream Chaser by Norwegian five-piece Rendezvous Point. But don’t think it’s a sterile undertaking. No, even though we get treated eight tracks that follow the traditional progressive metal road, there is a lot of passion, energy and urgency in their delivery. A lot of building and always leading up to a wonderful release. Filled with emotion, it’s the powerful and clear vocals of Geirmund Hansen that make sure the compositions never come across as too immaculate. Technical mastery and a serious knack for producing that epic sound that manages to fill you with oxygen and a wish to run out and chase whatever dream that keeps eluding you…
