Number 14
Number 14 is that album that knocked us all from whatever chair we were sitting in back when August was in full swing! It rests easy on the Number 14 spot now while it plays the Pied Piper and performs those rituals needed to make followers out of us all. We find this album by jumping a mere six points from Cave In’s Heavy Pendulum at Number 15. The album before us today is of a completely different nature. Combining Stonerrock with Progressive rock and taking all to the very edge of what you have come to expect from these genres. Indeed, they fuse it with so many elements and so many atmospheric touches, that this becomes a wild and majestic heavy rock fusion adventure that borders on the megalomanic but feels like the magnus opus that you wanted them to deliver. The return of these Swedish heavy rock masters was lauded by many and loved by more. And rightfully so, for there’s not turning back once you have been enchanted by this album! Or as Andreas Muhr stated: “I have no idea where this trip started and how it's gonna end. Stoner funk? Progressive fuzz? Doom jazz? Call it whatever you want but be sure that this musical journey will be a one-way ticket into your brain, your ears and your heart.” Indeed! Prepare to be cursed and dance that ritual dance… With Number 14!
