The Nine Moons duo from the East of England, released their self-titled debut album back in 2022. And now the two return with their sophomore record entitled Caracaras. Six tracks filling some thirty-two minutes of heavy rock. Heavy rock that meanders through sixties and seventies psych, but all of it with blues roots and deliciously grunged, punked and stonerized. But that’s not all… For especially that garage, gritty, grimy and grainy sound that takes their acid rocking prowess from high flying to those filthy, sweat dripping basements, will be the lure that will have you hooked. It will still be a love that sets in slowly. A first smile for opening track Desert Eyes a heavy nod for Sage and then you feel its burn starting. And then they distort and fuzz it all up and send all of it through the wires in partly improvised songs. O’ and that shortest track on the album called Hunters Moon with its Middle Eastern motif and extra ‘oud’ instrumentation, inspiring! Lovely vocals, wild drum work and riotous guitar makes Caracaras a slow grower, but also an easy album to fall in love with, and a hard one to let go. This might be your travelling companion for quite some time… It will be mine…
