We knew this was coming… And not just because of very own poet Ronny Dijksterhuis mentioned their singles Prism Break and Super Rebound in a July Quick Fire Friday session. But we all know the deal. What goes around, comes around… And this time in sludge noise core album called Super Rebound! It’s the brand new 30,000 Monkies! Out… TODAY! 

We haven’t always mentioned the wild releases by the Beringen, Belgium four. In fact, the only one mentioned was Somewhere Over The Rainbow from 2013. And this one might even be more colorful, brighter and at the same time crushing! 30,000 Monkies are unpredictable and the way the new album Super Rebound crashes and exploded through the speakers is simply glorious.

Their noise core sludge post metal maelstrom, is full of grit, weight and foul tasting riffs! But this time around, there’s color everywhere. Joyful, riotous chaos, pounding drums, twisted melodies and enough powerful riffage to knock all the black out of the darkest corners! That’s where these Monkies truly shine. They don’t just go for the hammer instantly, they build up the tension before dropping it on your head.  

Am I a natural fan of these vocals? Hell no. But they fit, and add to the gloomy melodies, massive walls of sound and screaming guitars. The songs twist and turn through every color and shade of heavy, piling on the groove, the riffs and unholy noise, until everything explodes in technicolor splendor. Super Rebound crushes hard, weirds you out and constantly bring you absolute joy. Its like getting stomped into the netherworld by a rainbow, while the boys grin and turn the volume up to eleven…
