Doom Chart for June 2016

Doom Chart

And then there was a sound. Like a bootheel on a wooden floor. A fist on the lid of a coffin. Slow at first. Then speeding up. Faster and faster until the sound became a furious barrage. And with it came the pure ecstasy of perfect recognition…

“Indeed. It was my honor to work out the Doom Charts this month and much of the work it entails is quite fun. Listening to one of the many records voted for by one of the contributors. One you had not even heard of before the sweating for and laboring over the chart commenced. Sure, we all listen to an unhealthy amount of music over here. But no one ever claimed that we were health nuts or all encompassing. There is simply too much great stuff out there. But that is probably why we all go completely apeshit over one of those new discoveries. One of those albums that someone mentions with a certain glimmer in his or her eye. That spark of something wild and wonderful, just waiting for the needle to be dropped. And guess what, no less than fourteen new albums entered the charts this month! Fourteen of those records that will delight and envelop the listener in a glorious rapture….” ~ Joop Konraad (Stoner HiVe)
